La Symbiose Fondamentale

La Symbiose Fondamentale est un projet sculptural qui interroge la place de l’être humain au sein du monde vivant. À travers la céramique, j’explore les liens qui unissent les différentes formes de vie et imagine une mythologie où les frontières entre les règnes humain, végétal et minéral n’existent plus. Les sculptures prennent la forme de figures hybrides issues d’un peuple imaginaire appartenant à un temps indéterminé. Présentées comme des découvertes archéologiques, elles apparaissent comme les vestiges d’une civilisation disparue, témoignant d’une manière d’habiter le monde fondée sur une relation de réciprocité avec son environnement. En convoquant les codes de l’archéologie et du récit mythologique, le projet brouille les temporalités et invite à considérer le passé comme un espace de projection vers de nouvelles manières de penser notre avenir.

Réalisées en argile puis parées de platine, ces sculptures évoquent autant des reliques rituelles que des présences silencieuses. Le métal précieux fait écho aux pratiques funéraires et cérémonielles présentes dans de nombreuses cultures, tout en conférant à ces figures une dimension intemporelle. Repliées sur elles-mêmes, les yeux tournés vers le ciel, elles semblent suspendues dans un état d’attente, de méditation ou de prière. Leurs gestes demeurent énigmatiques et ouvrent un espace d’interprétation où se mêlent disparition, renaissance et transmission.

À travers La Symbiose Fondamentale, je propose une réflexion sur les récits fondateurs qui façonnent notre rapport au vivant. En inventant les vestiges d’une civilisation fictive, le projet interroge les modèles de domination qui caractérisent notre époque et imagine d’autres formes d’existence où l’être humain retrouve sa place au sein d’un écosystème partagé. Entre fiction, archéologie et spéculation, ces sculptures invitent à envisager le mythe comme un outil capable de renouveler notre regard sur le monde et sur les relations qui nous unissent aux autres formes de vie.

ENG : Fundamental Symbiosis is a sculptural project that examines the place of human beings within the living world. Through ceramics, I explore the connections between different forms of life and imagine a mythology in which the boundaries between the human, vegetal, and mineral realms no longer exist. The sculptures take the form of hybrid figures belonging to an imaginary people from an indeterminate time. Presented as archaeological discoveries, they appear as the remains of a vanished civilisation, bearing witness to a way of inhabiting the world based on reciprocity with its environment. By drawing on the codes of archaeology and mythological narratives, the project blurs temporal boundaries and invites us to consider the past as a space from which to imagine new ways of thinking about our future.

Made from clay and adorned with platinum, the sculptures evoke both ritual relics and silent presences. The precious metal recalls funerary and ceremonial practices found across many cultures, while lending the figures a timeless quality. Curled in on themselves, their eyes turned towards the sky, they seem suspended in a state of waiting, meditation, or prayer. Their gestures remain enigmatic, opening up a space for interpretation in which disappearance, rebirth, and transmission converge.

Through Fundamental Symbiosis, I reflect on the foundational narratives that shape our relationship with the living world. By inventing the remains of a fictional civilisation, the project questions the models of domination that define our time and imagines alternative forms of existence in which human beings reclaim their place within a shared ecosystem. At the intersection of fiction, archaeology, and speculation, these sculptures approach myth as a means of renewing our perception of the world and of the relationships that connect us to other forms of life.
